AIRankWP setup guide

Install

  1. Back up and use staging first. Tested here on WordPress 6.8.11 with PHP 8.2.33.
  2. Upload the Free ZIP in Plugins > Add Plugin > Upload Plugin.
  3. Activate. Skip optional Freemius diagnostics if you do not want to share them.
  4. Open AIRankWP, run a scan, preview a fix, then apply only the changes you approve.

What the checks mean

Descriptions come from existing text. Alt suggestions come from image filenames, not image recognition. Existing empty alt attributes are left alone because they can mark decorative images. Media-library alt changes affect every use of that attachment.

Internal-link checks do not crawl external URLs. Structured-data checks inspect JSON-LD in post content, not every schema source. Site checks read local settings and generated rules; they do not prove public sitemap or CDN/WAF access.

Drafts and undo

The content queue saves a separate draft that includes extractive blocks plus the original text. Review duplication, context and formatting before publishing it. Undo retains up to 500 fixes and skips fields changed afterward. Avoid concurrent scans/fixes in this beta.

Optional settings

Analytics is off by default. Robots directives are voluntary. A physical robots.txt file overrides WordPress output. llms.txt is a proposed convention, not a ranking signal. Scheduled scans use WP-Cron and require a site visit after the due time. Email delivery depends on your WordPress mail setup.

Compatibility and test scope

Generated Free and premium packages were fresh-installed on WordPress 6.8.11/PHP 8.2.33. Real test-license activation, Pro gating, scans, description apply/undo, stale-change rejection, separate drafts and duplicate protection passed. All 185 PHP files parsed on PHP 8.2. Hosted checkout passed in sandbox, with no real payment.

Real payment, renewals, refund execution, production email delivery, automatic update installation, multisite licensing/data isolation and broad theme/plugin compatibility remain untested. Prior Yoast/Rank Math integration and 2,000-post load tests were reported by the earlier executor, not rerun in this release check. Multisite is not supported for production.

Not included

No AI-model generation, factual-staleness detector, traffic-drop alerts, automatic rewrite publication, HTTP-level bot blocking, ranking guarantee or citation tracking.
